Some how it is already late November… Where has the time gone?  We have some news for you, are you ready?  The Loeffler’s are having a GIRL!!!!  A few weeks ago we found out that the lil nugget growing in my belly is going to be Luke’s lil sister.  Neither Adam or I had a feeling of boy or girl and when we saw on the ultrasound that it was a lil girl we were so excited!  We are due sometime mid-March and we eagerly await her arrival. On the day to day our lil man Luke is keeping us quite busy.  He continues to surprise us with everything that he remembers and the ways in which he can follow directions!  There aer several things that he can accomplish on his own like getting his shoes when its time to go, bringing his shoes to his room when we ask him to put them away, finding his sippy cup, blanket and paci, and helping dress himself (kind ofJ)!  He is quite particular when it comes to messes and like his mom he loves to pick up after himself—toys, food, or anything that isn’t ‘supposed’ to be on the floor he will ...

After several months of struggling with ear infections we finally came to the decision to get tubes in Luke’s ears. Initially we opted for alternative remedies like Garlic Olive oil eardrops which were a success and I would recommend them to anyone who has a child with chronic ear infections. This method allowed us to refuse antibiotics several times, BUT the problem lied in Luke’s ears retaining fluid almost continually. After ten or so ear infections his little ears can only take so much before it could cause permanent hearing damage. With that said Luke got tubes put in on Thursday (Aug 20th). At 6am, we arrived at the hospital and we were greeted at the nurses’ station then were admitted to Luke’s room. With ‘tiger’ scrubs, a lil soccer ball and Baby Einstein on daddy’s laptop, Adam and I attempted to distract Luke for over an hour from the hunger pains that he was experiencing (he hadn’t eaten since 7pm the night before). Luckily surgery was ready for Luke an hour before we expected and Adam escorted him to the “OR” around 7:15am. You can see in the picture that Luke is happy as ever, not knowing what is in front ...

Ready for Pizza, cupcakes, balloons, and some tears??? Happy birthday lil Luke!  It’s hard to believe but Luke is ONE!!! So many milestones have passed and hundreds are in front of our lil guy!  Luker had a lil cupcake on his highchair with a candle lit and all attention was on him.  His eyes were wide as he heard all of us sing for him and he was definitely interested in the little flame of fire!  Unlike most kids his age…Luke wasn’t too interested in the cake…when it got on his lil fingers he started waving them up and down in his attempt to clean them off!  “Mmm, this cake is tasty…but I think that I like Pizza better!” (Luke’s thoughts interpreted by mom) And the party hats, well they weren’t a hit at all – Luke’s first reaction was frustration and tears as he tried to tear the hat from his head.   After Adam settled him down and forgetting he had the hat on he saw his lil friend Asher and the tears started again – it seems that he didn’t want anyone to wear the ‘scary’ party hat!   Soooo funny!
