Lately Luke and I have been praying together a lot more often. Our usual prayer time has been before meals and when he goes to bed. At bedtime I ask him who he wants to pray for and his list usually consists of “Nana! Papa! Ditty (baby), Daddy, Mama, LUKE!, Asher, and a few other friends. When we are done he shouts the loudest “AMEN!” These times of prayer are acting as pedagogy for Luke and have served as a constant reminder for me to be in prayer. Luke is a sensitive little boy and when tantrums come about and tears appear to be unending I often ask Luke if he wants to pray. Squeezing his eyes shut (though I think it is a squint so he can still see out) and Luke prays with me. We pray for God’s help, we thank God for our day, and we pray for our friends around the world and the family that he has given us. These times moments with the Lord and my little boy are good.
